Southwest Florida K9 Services is locally owned and operated by Rusty and Dee Graham, lifelong residents of Lee County. Rusty retired from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office after 25 years of service. During his last 18 years with the Sheriff's Office, Rusty was a K9 Handler, Trainer and K9 Unit Administrator.
Rusty’s training, knowledge and experience in the field of K9 behavior creates a proven and successful environment that results in a lifelong bond between the canine and the handler. The philosophy of Southwest Florida K9 Services is based upon behavior modification and adaptation through positive food and praise reward and reinforcement.
Rusty Graham and his K9 partners competed nationally at United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) events and achieved top honors on numerous occasions. Since 2004, however, Rusty and his wife Dee have focused their business on civilian-owned pets and offer a wide range of training opportunities, from socialization to advanced obedience and agility training. Rusty and Dee’s mission is to focus the attention of the animal on the owner / handler and allow the owner to enjoy their “best friend” dynamic settings and environments. Pet owners across Southwest Florida have seen dramatic improvements in their dog's demeanor and behavior after only a few weeks of training at Southwest Florida K9 Services.
